Welcome to our little place. The place for writers who dream and dreamers who write. So take a seat by the fire, grab pen and paper, and join us on our endeavours. Through our trials and tribulations as writers and dreamers. Through our triumphs and times of insanity. Come and enjoy your stay at our secret place.
Sincerely,

Have a great rest of the week

I try to create a look i think you all would like, but it's a tad difficult without the ability to talk to most of you, besides through here. I'm gonna do this.Ok, no yahoo. aim only. want yahoo ask.
AIM: shyangel19586
I have some fun things in store, like little writing projects to help get the creative sparks going in your heads. Or poetry writing mini contests.
but with the names, let me know who you are so I'm not gonna sit there and give ya a big F.You when you try to friend me on yahoo or aim
This is the last final stretch for nano. Some of you may have given up, or just had to stop becasue of time or work scheduling conflicts.Don't fret, at least you tried. That's all that matters. So for next year, you know a few things more than you did this year. One main thing is time budjeting. The other research, the other planning things out better. I think quite a few of us jumped in the deep end blind folded on that one. But for those that haven't given up yet, hang in there. keep at it until that last second before the clock strikes midnight annoucing our release from this mini writers hell.
In the corniest phrase possible: Keep on truckin!

I believe the most popular phrase I've heard throughout this so far is "You're crazy."
and yes, maybe we are all insane. Who though these days can say they're completely sane?
Yes. The time crunch is slowly being felt. The competitive sides in us are wanting to beat the other guy out in word count. But that is healthy competition my friends. We're striving to better our writing in this process, to churn more out. I know many are starting fresh with new ideas this late in the game, don't worry about time. just keep writing and it'll all flow out. Don't pay too much to word count, and you won't put as much pressure on yourself. Because when we do that, writing isn't fun any more. So remember, keep it fun! Relax, listen to music, and let your characters become free.
and a little tid bit:
Did you know that you don't need a comma before because? Nope, we don't. The because acts like a comma,so no comma before it is needed. little grammer tip of the week.
keep it fun! don't stress! And don't write too much at one sitting, get up.. go for a walk oor do other things.
Good luck as we enter into week 3!
A message from NightPirate:
Today it all begins. The countless hours of typing/scribbling down thoughts and ideas. The late nighters and caffeine overdoses. Remember though, there's nothing to lose by doing this. All you can gain is exposure. So try not to freak out about deadlines you set for youself. This is supposed to be a fun time of insanity. Just pace yourself. I figured if you get out about 2000 words a day, then you will be pretty much set in reaching the November 30th goal of 50,000 words. If you get stuck with anything, look at the links next to this entry. You should find some helpful stuff about grammer, character developement, and plot writing. And also post anything in the forum you have questions on. I also added a new feature of putting up photography and art work. Once again just ask one of us (me,Paisley, or mary) for the password. Just make sure you have your photos or art work posted to a site like Photobucket.com before uploading them to the journal.
Have fun while doing this. And also, most important:
"write what you know"
Static
A few new links have been added under "Random" There is one for Mary's other blog which has updates on her writing and there's a group called "Jibberish" on it which is for writers to give feedback, ask questions...pretty much the same thing as this place. Also there is a link to a music page "death of the LoTek" just as a promotional thing, good stuff so be sure to check it out. There's a link to Mary's MySpace page just for people who want to keep up more with her writing...same idea as her other blog. Finally, there's a link to a site called "Urbis" it's a group which focuses on unpublished writers. Gets their worked shared with publishing agencies, magazines, and other Urbis users. The whole idea is to help get writers published for cheap or free and if nothing else it offers tons of free promotion and is also free to join so if you're serious about you're writing and looking to self publish or maybe find an actual company to go through...check them out.
Is it possible to write a novel of 50,000 words in just 30 days? Of course it is! With a few goals in mind and some planning before Nov. 1st, you can easily finish the 50,000 word limit:
1. Figure out what genre you want to write in. I would suggest one that you are comfortable with and have done before. I will be writing in the fantasy genre because that is my best subject. I’m not saying you have to do a genre that you work with more; but it’s a suggestion.
2. Research and plan. Brainstorm on scratch paper. If your novel takes place in a certain time period or certain culture, research it. I can’t stress that enough… even though it will all be fictional, readers still want to see the accuracy when it comes to how the people lived in that time, what they ate, etc...
3. Character sheets. Make a small outline of each (important) character. Include their name, purpose in the novel (protagonist, antagonist, other..), personality, age, appearance description, and so on. Strictly for your main characters. I wouldn’t make a character sheet for every single character because let’s face it: That could take up more time than writing the novel itself. LoL.
HAVE FUN!!!

Welcome to the coffee hut! A place for writers and aspiring writers alike. A place to come for advice, help with stories or poems, or to have simple discussions with fellow writers. A few rules, no bashing, this is supposed to be a safe haven for writers to post things without having to worry about being bashed. And especially, NO PLAGARIZING! This I cannot stress enough. Do not steal others works off of here and pass them off as your own, for one thing, that is just wrong and two its ILLEGAL. Enough of the technicalitites, I want to get to the fun part.
There will soon be helpful links to aid writers and new writers in their quest for perfection. We all know we want it lol. And this place will hopefully help you in that quest. This is also created for writers on Bravejournal who are apart of Nanowrimo, the contest where you write 50,000 word novel in a mere 30 days, yes, 30 days. For big things just ask one of the keepers of the journal for the password, but don't abuse the password privelages. It's merely for those who want to post something that is too large for the forum. Each day or every few days things will change on this site. so check back often. there is so much planned for this site and I hope you all enjoy it, and use it to your advantage.
